TAHLEQUAH â In the May 17 Community Services meeting, the Tribal Council learned that the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nationâs new construction program is continuing, and that citizens can now buy headstones for new burials through the tribe.
HACN Interim Executive Director Jerri Killer said the new construction homeownership program has received bids for new units.Â
âI have 32 new construction units, the bids have just come back and weâre getting ready to award those bids. So we should be starting on those pretty soon,â Killer said.
Tribal Councilor Daryl Legg asked Killer prices of material for construction since prices have risen.
