This award is the first installment of what potentially could be 1. 2 billion pursuant to a full Funding Grant agreement, to boost capacity on barts transbased service by over 30 , increasing the current 23 tencar trains per hour to 30 trains per hour. I think we all agree this is good news for the 28,000 people that travel by bart across the bay during the peak. Twice number who travel by car on the bay bridge. Barts program is extensive, consisting of 300 new rail cars, train control upgrade, and new maintenance facilities.
