The Lafarge Canada Inc. Precast Plant in Winnipeg, Manitoba, has supplied a sustainable solution for the construction of the 18-story multi-use apartment building at 221 Stradbrook. This apartment building is located alongside the Red and Assiniboine Rivers and is only footsteps from the Historic Forks Market. The Stradbrook building boasts a total precast concrete design made possible by architect Dustin Sharrow of MMP Architects and the Lafarge design team.
The sustainability of precast is showcased by the building’s modern aesthetic, fire-resistant, and energy-efficient concrete panels. Precast concrete helps to moderate temperature, all the while reducing the operating costs for the people living at the apartments.
