In the fall of 2021, America Media’s video team hatched an idea: What would it look like if we traveled to four parishes across the United States during the course of one year and assessed their similarities and differences? Here is a snapshot of what we found.
Carol Ann Tropple, of Antigo, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, at home. She was 76 years old. She was born on July 2, 1944, in Antigo, a daughter of Frank and Elvy (Aird) Tropple.
She was a graduate of White Lake High School in 1962 and continued her education at Marathon Center in Wausau.
She served in the United States Army as a medic nurse from Feb. 1, 1966, to Jan. 12, 1969, having been stationed in Europe.
Following military service Ms. Tropple attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she received a bachelor of science degree in nursing in 1973.
She worked as a registered nurse at Lakeshore Manor in Madison for four years. She moved to Antigo in 1977 where she worked for the Langlade County Health Department as a registered nurse for 33 years, retiring in 2010.
