Johann Calhoun is the bureau chief for Chalkbeat Philadelphia. Throughout his career, he has been committed to local news and to serving local communities. Johann is a former senior editor at The Philadelphia Tribune, with stints at The Courier Post in South Jersey and the Bucks County Courier Times. He has taught computer assisted reporting as an adjunct instructor at Temple University and has served as a regional director for the National Association of Black Journalists and chapter president for the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists.
