According to independent schools associations, about 90% of teachers and staff from private schools have been vaccinated.
The associations say they are happy with the way the Department of Basic Education accommodated their teachers during the vaccine drive.
The education sector will conclude its vaccination drive at the end of the week.
While independent school associations say they are pleased with the Covid-19 vaccination drive for its members, the five teacher unions in the Education Labour Relations Council have urged their members to be ambassadors of the vaccine.
South African Democratic Teachers Union, National Professional Teachers Organisation of South Africa, South African Teachers Union (SAOU), Professional Educators Union and National Teachers Union have urged teachers and support staff in the sector to use the remaining days of the vaccination drive to get the jab.
