Anger, frustration, and shocked: Some state leaders are feeling these emotions after the order went into effect.

Within hours of New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham's emergency order suspending the right to carry firearms in Albuquerque and the surrounding Bernalillo County, a federal lawsuit to block the ban was filed, state lawmakers called for her impeachment and even gun-control activists rebuked her for violating the U.S. Constitution.

Local police officials are leery of enforcing Michelle Lujan Grisham's ban on public carry, which gun rights groups have challenged in federal court.

Numerous officials and legal experts sounded off on New Mexico's Friday public health decree that bans firearm possession in certain areas of the state.

Elon Musk responded to New Mexico Gov. Grisham's order banning concealed carry by asking how soon the governor can be removed from office.
