Northside ISD board on Feb. 27 selected John Craft, Killeen ISD’s current superintendent, as the lone finalist to serve as NISD’s next superintendent.

Killeen ISD Superintendent Dr. John Craft is the “lone finalist” for superintendent of Northside ISD in San Antonio.

The biggest school district in San Antonio, Texas announced the Killeen ISD superintendent as its lone finalist, out of a pool of 34.

Dr. John Craft will be replacing current superintendent, Dr. Brian Woods, who is retiring of the current school year following a 31-year career with Northside ISD.

The changes included significant renovations to CTE classrooms, the auditorium, main gym and library and the addition of a two-story academic wing.

KISD Superintendent Dr. John Craft put out a survey last year to gauge how employees felt about their workplace.

Killeen Independent School District says it is gearing up to give $2.5 million in incentive pay to its top achieving teachers, according to the district.

The Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association named Debbi Barkley the Region 12 Assistant Principal of the Year for her service at Killeen Elementary.

The Killeen ISD Board of Trustees voted to extend Superintendent Dr. John Craft's contract through 2027 at its meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 7.
