The Bosque County Sheriff’s Office on Jan. 15 began a three-day search of Lake Whitney.

Waco police said divers have found a bone fragment inside a submerged vehicle, they say resembles one belonging to a woman last seen in 2017.

The missing man, John Creech, who was last seen near his home in Meridian, Texas, in 2009, still has not been accounted for by county and state investigators.

Central Texan John Creech went missing 13 years ago, late last year law enforcement reopened his disappearance case. The department brought in an Oregon-based organization to help with their search.

Two vehicles were removed from the water. 

Central Texas authorities have found more than a dozen vehicles submerged in a three-day search of Lake Whitney during a 13-year-old cold case investigation.

Investigating officials said they received a tip that Creech's remains might be located in the lake.
