Portland man gets 2 years in federal prison for conspiring to smuggle heroin into Inverness Jail
When John M. Christian was in jail on a pending heroin possession charge, he arranged for his girlfriend to deposit four packages, each holding 3 to 6 grams of heroin, at a secret drop site near the Multnomah County jail in Northeast Portland. He instructed other inmates who were part of a work crew to retrieve the ingestible packages in the spring and summer of 2019.
