Readers react after a Nazi graffiti scrawled on the memorial that honours Barrows war dead has been roundly condemned. One fire engine from Barrow Fire Station was called out to the blaze on Monday night. The duty manager said: "We were called out to a small fire at the playpark. "The fire has been extinguished and there were no injuries suffered." More security measures have been called for after police and firefighters were called to a fire in a town centre car park which was reportedly started by youths.
