About 30 people attended the Carlton School Board meeting Monday, April 17, demanding harsher penalties for students who threaten or commit acts of violence on school grounds.

The board also learned more about enrollment trends during an audit presentation, which showed resident students leaving the district at a five-year high and the number of nonresident students coming into Carlton at a five-year low.

George Albert Engstrom of East Falmouth died at home on August 4, following a short illness. He was 81.

Pending approval by the Wrenshall School Board and the MSHSL, Carlton-Wrenshall will field co-op teams in boys and girls track and field, cross country and softball.

The position was made vacant after pre-K-12 Principal Ben Midge submitted his resignation, effective June 30.
