ELLSWORTH — The Hancock County Commissioners Tuesday voted unanimously to reject a funding request from Mount Desert Island High School for its septic system replacement project.
This means that Foster will square off against independent candidate Robert C. Granger of Blue Hill, who practices law at Acadia Law Group, during the November election.
Last week, that project got a boost from the Hancock County Commissioners, who voted unanimously to give the towns $888,000 in federal American Rescue Plan Act funds for the broadband work.
There’s been a fair amount of back and forth over the building, including what had looked like the society’s impending relinquishing of the property back to the county.
