The Brookesmith Mustangs won the Region III-A boys track and field championship in Whitney and are sending four entries to the UIL Class A Track and Field State Championships May 6-8 at the University of Texas’s Myers Stadium in Austin based on their performances this past weekend.
Advancing as regional champions are the 4×100 relay (44.64) and 4×200 relay (1:34.16), both of which consist of Clayton Adame, Randall Williams, Avery Williford and Johnathan Willoughby and alternate Trey Toft.
Also moving in individual events are Williford as the regional champion in the boys 200 meters (23-62) and as the regional runner-up in the triple jump (40-8.5).
