Genk striker Paul Onuachu has opted to keep mum over his standby role for this month’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Lesotho, The PUNCH reports.
The Super Eagles travel to Port Novo to face the Squirrels at the Stade Charles de Gaulle on March 27, before hosting the Crocodiles at the Teslim Balogun Stadium three days later in their final group fixture.
Many had expected Onuachu to be included in the squad for the games, having shone in the Belgian topflight division for Genk.
The 26-year-old has 26 goals in 30 games, with three assists across all competitions this term.
Osimhen scores as Napoli beat Bologna 3-1

Victor Osimhen marked his return from a head injury with a goal and an assist in Napoli’s 3-1 win over Bologna in a Serie A clash on Sunday,
The PUNCH reports.
It was his third league goal for the club in 11 appearances since he joined the club last summer from Lille for a club-record €70m.
The 22-year-old, who came on for Dries Mertens in the 53rd minute, doubled his side’s lead after Lorenzo Insigne had put the hosts ahead after eight minutes.
Iheanacho lacks self-belief – Cole

Former England and Manchester United striker Andy Cole has praised in-form Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho after he scored for the second straight game for Leicester City in the Premier League but was quick to add that the 24-year-old lacked self belief, The PUNCH reports.
Iheanacho scored the equaliser against Brighton on Saturday to boost their chances of a Top Four finish.
The Foxes are currently third in the EPL with 53 points from 28 matches.
The Nigerian striker, who is expected to be named in Nigeria’s squad for this month’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Lesotho, has now scored three goals in seven league starts for The Foxes this term.

D’Tigress’ forward Ezinne Kalu is eager to play in the Women’s National Basketball Association, The PUNCH reports.
The 28-year-old point guard also believes a sterling performance against USA in the women’s event at the forthcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will boost her chances.
Reigning Afobasket champions D’Tigress have been drawn against world champions USA in Group B alongside hosts Japan and France.
“I think that it is important that I do play really well against the United States, because I have been playing overseas for the last six years now,” The Landerneau BB Point Guard, said during an Instagram live interview session monitored by our correspondent on Thursday.

Renowned neurosurgeon Alfredo Bucciero has warned that Victor Osimhen must be in “perfect condition” before he is allowed to return to the pitch.
Last week, the 22-year-old was knocked unconscious in a scary incident during the final minutes against Atalanta, after a challenge by Cristian Romero, and was stretchered off the pitch and taken to hospital.
According to Bucciero, Osimhen will undergo further tests and a Magnetic Resonance Imaging scan on Friday (today).
“I saw him on Tuesday and there are more tests planned on Friday (today),” Alfredo Bucciero told Radio Marte.
“He returned to training, but before we send him back out onto the pitch to play, we need to make absolutely sure he is in perfect condition.
