Boggs, the 2020 Owen Wister Award recipient for lifetime contributions to Western literature and inductee into Western Writers Hall of Fame, has won a record eight Spur Awards from Western Writers of America. A former newspaper journalist, he has been writing fiction and nonfiction full time since 1998.
