Highlights of last nights 2-0 Papa Johns Trophy victory over Arsenal U21s.

Blues defender Kane Vincent-Young felt the display in last night’s 2-0 Papa Johns Trophy tie against Arsenal’s U21s was pleasing from start to finish.

Goals at each end of the match from Dom Ball and Freddie Ladapo saw the Blues to a comfortable 2-0 Papa Johns Trophy victory over Arsenal’s U21s at Portman Road. Ball gave Town the lead with his first for the club in the third minute and Town had had opportunities to increase their lead before Ladapo added the second with five minutes left on the clock.

Town’s joint-leading scorer, Marcus Harness, has promised fans there is plenty more to come from him in what remains of a season he has started in devastating form.

The Blues and Accrington Stanley remain locked at 0-0 at half-time.

Sub Conor Chaplin netted twice in the second half to see Town to a 2-0 win away against previously unbeaten Accrington Stanley and back to the top of League One. The Blues, who have won their first four away games at the start of a season for the first time in their history, went in front in the 76th minute of a hard-fought encounter when Chaplin turned home a Lee Evans corner on the volley, then the forward added the second with a deflected strike three minutes from the end.
