Royal Navy’s ARCIMS USV can now be deployed by Air ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK (AEUK) unveiled a new Towed Wheeled Cradle (TWC) used for embarking the Royal Navy s 11 meters ARCIMS Autonomous Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) on the Royal Air Force s A400M and C17 military transport aircraft. 26 Apr 2021
ARCIMS is the delivery platform for the RN’s advanced autonomous minesweeping capability and the TWC will enable rapid, worldwide air deployment of AEUK’s UK Sweep System.
According to AEUK, the 11m ARCIMS USV has a modular architecture and is highly customizable for multiple mission roles. It is easily transportable by road, sea and now air for rapid deployment from naval bases or strategic operating locations. It has a full multi-sensor sense and avoid system aligned to International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGS).
