KZN s people will have to wait even longer for housing due to reprioritisation of budget

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) is alarmed by reports that the province will no longer receive any additional Human Settlements funding to deal with the devastation caused by recent flooding in the province. This was confirmed after a national parliamentary Human Settlements portfolio committee held yesterday. The decision comes after more than 14 000 homes were damaged and destroyed during last months’ heavy downpour and while many people are still living in deplorable temporary accommodation.
