In September 2019, the Putnam Township Board of Trustees voted 5-0 during a special meeting to terminate Fire Marshal Jennifer Koch, who had been with the department for 23 years. Beth Moffat of Hartland Township was just 16 when she died in a tragic car accident in 1992. The branch located on Grand River in Genoa Township is closed, as is the Michigan Avenue branch in Lansing. Vaccination appointments are now being offered to individuals ages 16 and over for the Pfizer vaccine and those 18 and over for the Janssen and Moderna vaccines.
