Striker Billy Clarke says he is hopeful that he can impress new boss Roy Keane and win himself a new contract with the Blues. Clarkes current deal is up at the end of the season and former boss Jim Magilton had told him he was surplus to requirements.

Town boss Roy Keane says hes not planning to make a huge number of changes to the Blues squad in the summer. Keanes spell as manager at Sunderland saw a huge turnaround in personnel, but the Irishman seems more impressed with the squad he is inheriting at Portman Road.

Town boss Paul Jewell says he’ll pick his Town side for tonight’s East Anglian derby against Norwich after training this morning having assessed the fitness of midfielder Grant Leadbitter, left-back Mark Kennedy and a couple of unnamed additional doubts. Leadbitter suffered a head injury at Bristol City on Saturday, while Kennedy missed the trip to Ashton Gate with a tight hamstring.

On-loan striker Jon Stead is set to undergo cartilage surgery and has been ruled out for the rest of the season. The former England U21 international is on loan at Coventry City for the remainder of 2009/10.

Boss Mick McCarthy says struggling Huddersfield will view his promotion-chasing Blues as a scalp when Town face them at the John Smith’s Stadium this afternoon.

Central defender Alex Bruce finally made his full debut for Leicester as the Foxes beat Cardiff 1-0 at the Walkers Stadium, but was replaced in the 35th minute having picked up an injury. The central defender is on a loan at Leicester until the end of the season.

Connor Wickham struck his first league goal for the Blues in injury time to give Town a dramatic 1-0 win over Scunthorpe at Portman Road with both sides ending the game with 10 men. Until the goal, the Blues had been frustrated by an almost entirely negative display by the Iron, who had Cliff Byrne red-carded for an off the ball elbow on Jack Colback. Later, Damien Delaney was more harshly sent off for a trip on halfway.

David Wright and David Norris are facing late fitness tests prior to Saturdays trip to Reading. The Blues are already without Jon Walters and Moritz Volz, but skipper Gareth McAuley is back after suspension.
