Mark Lally s custody shot Picture: TVP A builder who stabbed his wife up to 11 times in a ‘frenzied’ attack has had his life sentence overturned by the Court of Appeal. Mark Lally was handed a life sentence last August after jurors convicted him of the attempted murder of his wife at their home in Abingdon on November 27, 2019. He attacked his wife in the bathroom with a knife he’d retrieved from the kitchen. The blade punctured both lungs and came within millimetres of her spine. Judge Peter Ross ordered Lally serve at least 11 years and three months of his sentence behind bars.
