2024 Pulitzer Prize winners announced

The two Chicago-based journalism nonprofit newsrooms garnered the Local Reporting award on Monday for the “Missing in Chicago” series. Invisible Institute also won a second Pulitzer for audio reporting.

Pulitzer Prizes honor American achievements in journalism, letters and drama, and music. They are widely recognized as the most prestigious awards in their field within the United States.

Sarah Conway and Trina Reynolds-Tyler won the prestigious award in the Local Reporting category. Invisible Institute also won for Audio Reporting.

Winning books include Night Watch and King: A Life while journalism winners focused on coverage of the Israel-Hamas war

Special citations were awarded by the Pulitzer Prize Board to late hip-hop writer Greg Tate and journalists covering the war in Gaza.
