A permanent COVID-19 memorial will be erected at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, in observance of the global pandemic and representing a tribute to the loved ones lost. A central element of the memorial will a be a bronze sculpture by Timothy Schmalz, a world-renowned artist. The sculpture, titled âWhen I Was Sick,â is part of a series by Schmalz.
YOUNGSTOWN St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital will be home later this year to a large memorial to remember and honor those directly affected by the novel coronavirus pandemic.
This Mercy Health memorial “is a testament to the continued generosity rooted in those living in the Mahoning Valley,” said Paul S. Homick Jr., Mercy Health Foundation-Mahoning Valley’s president.
