The Dog Control Coalition (DCC) - a group of animal organisations opposed to the ban - says more than 200 dogs are still waiting for a new home at rescue shelters. They face being put down within days.

Pets4Homes says it will not allow owners of the breed, which has been linked to swathes of attacks, to sell their dogs for less than the £200 the paid out to those who put their pets to sleep.
