Top-seeded America culminated a magical season by claiming its 14th Liga MX title, defeating a game Tigres team that finished the match with just nine players.

América visited Tigres with a 27-game scoring streak and came away from "El Volcán" with its first zero since last season.

Teen sensation scored late to give Guadalajara a 1-0 victory over Cruz Azul and clinch a Liga Mx playoff spot for the Chivas.

Tigres handed Guadalajara a 4-0 home loss in a lopsided rematch of last season's Liga MX Final while América routed Monterrey.

League-leading America fell behind at the half on the road at Mazatlan but a pair of second-half goals led the high-flying Aguilas to victory.

América moved atop the Liga MX leader board with a 1-0 win over Mexico City rivals UNAM while defending champion Tigres won on the road.

Cruz Azul is coming off its first win of the season but up next is América which has won the past two Junior Classics by an aggregate 10-1 margin.

With the Liga MX season poised to resume, here are the challenges each member of the traditional Big 4 will face the rest of the way.

The two Liga MX finalists will be determined by Sunday night as Monterrey tangles with Tigres and Guadalajara does battle against América.

Underdogs won three of the first four Liga MX playoff games last weekend but with the top four seeds in action this week, upsets would seem to be unlikely.
