The president of Buffalo City Surfing, Kevin O’Brien, has stepped down and new president Tyrell Johnson has taken over. He steps up to the platform and announces “I only have one change to make from now on all selection trials will be held in Gonubie” and we all had a good belly laugh at that.
Do not dive head first into the tidal pool at Cape Morgan. It was once part of a titanium mine operated by Trev Miller, started in 1958. The black sand you see in the area is testimony to the mineral riches in the sand. The ex-mine ruins are testimony too, that the titanium is not easily processed to good economic return, and who would want to see a mine in the middle of a tourist area? Whomsoever built the pool at the time did a jolly good job.
Sivu Galada is a surprise package. Because she is petite and a little shy, you might easily underestimate her. She is older than she looks but to print her age is impolite. This much I can tell you, there is far more to this young lady than casually meets the eye. I know Sivu from Link FM radio, where she is a presenter.
