Jose Mourinho is one of Europe’s most successful club managers, but his trajectory at Tottenham Hotspur tracked a wearily familiar arc of initial promise followed by bitter recrimination.
For the first time since the early years of his managerial career in Portugal, the self-declared “Special One” leaves a club without silverware after he was sacked by Spurs on Monday.

Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Tottenham after 17 months in charge.
The Portuguese has failed to deliver any silverware to the club having been removed days before Spurs’ Carabao Cup final meeting with Manchester City.

Solskjaer, in his team s update, disclosed that Bailly - who was an unused substitute in Ivory Coast’s final Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Ethiopia last Tuesday - is yet to return to England and will not be available for selection for the time being.
“Unfortunately he won t be with us for a little while,” Solskjaer was quoted by the club website after the game.
“He s been away with Ivory Coast and he tested positive with Covid and he s not back in the country yet.”
Bailly has played in 15 matches across all competitions this season, including eight appearances in the Premier League so far.
His evident joy at the news was clear, after

Rose may still have a future in north London, depending on who the new manager is. However, that still looks unlikely.
