From Stewartville to Brookings, Josh Buri talks playing his senior season in South Dakota The former Tiger signed his Letter of Intent to play football at South Dakota State University. He rushed for more than 2,000 yards his junior season and led Stewartville to a section title game appearance. He was primed for another strong year as a senior in 2020, but the pandemic changed his plan. Obviously it was a very hard decision, Buri said.  The fall football season was delayed in the gopher state, with no start in sight. The summer before his senior year, Buri and a teammate made the difficult decision to transfer to Brookings High School in South Dakota, three and a half hours from Stewartville. 

Bollweg Signs With SDSU

Months ago, the Pierre Governors’ two-time All-State tight end said he would go to South Dakota State.  Wednesday, the Jackrabbits officially announced that Bollweg is part of their new recruiting class. In the last two seasons, Bollweg had 1,465 yards in receptions and a school-record 20 touchdowns in helping Pierre to its third and fourth consecutive 11AA championships.  He also has the Governors’ career sack record with 20 and a half and the single-season record of 13 and a half in 2019. Also, Bollweg was state runner-up in the 195-pound weight class in wrestling last season.
