When Governor Brown eliminated redevelopment agencies statewide we lost huge resource for Affordable Housing construction. This bond measure is a start in the effort to replace those funds. It is not a dollar for dollar replacement. But it is a really good start. The goal is to construct 30,000 Affordable Housing units. We will do the plan check and inspection of these communities of that we can meet the needs of the whole community as we go forward. The next part of my report is i would like to talk an event that we had yesterday. Councilmember was in attendance. This was a workshop held in collaboration with the independent Living Resource Center of San Francisco. Walk San Francisco and the bicycle coalition. We wanted to start an ongoing dialogue about the way that our different advocacy groups interact, trying to find common ground. Part of what was the stimulus for the workshop was the feedback we heard from different people about some of the changes to the San Francisco environme
Together input and ask for your participation because we are trying to gather as much input from folks all over the city as possible. Im going to go through a couple of slides here. Just to give you some background. The San Francisco Transportation Plan does a few things. It is a longrange, citywide planning effort, looking from now until 2040, just under 30 years, at all of the transportation funding. And try to prioritize between different needs that we have. And balance those needs and prioritize funding accordingly. We are also looking at Different Things that we can do is additionally and with policy to try to meet more of those needs. With the system we have now. And the investments that we can make moving forward. We will also develop two different plan scenarios. One is a fiscally constrained scenario, looking specifically at the funding that we will have over that plan period and what we can do without. Also looking at a vision scenario. Excess portion of the public right of way which they are now encroaching. I dont know exactly what happened during the Building Permit process but both planning and Building Department approved the design. We are required to review the infrastructure, which involved the kin strux of a sidewalk along nianic to the official sidewalk width, which they have. There are no sidewalks along panama. There has been comments from the public related to the lack of travel on niantic street as relates to access to the bart station. I know the department of public works is currently working with the California Department of public transportation, with caltrans, to see whether a sidewalk can be constructed adjacent to the freeway side of niantic. It is under continued discussion with caltrans at this point. Honestly from the departments perspective, we were given this information kind of after the fact, after the Building Permit was approved, after construction had begun and well underway before we fo
