I am told that a solo female officer responded to a call this morning of a reported dispute and assault at about 8 30 this morning. When she arrived, police say the suspect attacked her with a metal object. Sources tell us that object was some kind of chain, perhaps a bicycle chain. The officer was reportedly hit in the head and face. When she fired her again at the affect, fatally striking him. Im told the suspects body has removed about the coroner and the officer is being treated at Highland Hospital for injuries to her face and her head. We are told that her injuries are serious, but she is going to recover. He went into the water to swim to the other side of the creek but he never made it back to shore. It is a beautiful spot where Little Hunting Creek meets potomac river, popular with anglers. This morning, there are police boats instead of fishermen, for the search of a missing 16yearold continues.
