Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has attached assets worth Rs 305.84 crore of a private firm under section 37A of the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 for violation of section 4 of the Act.
The attached assets included 33 immovable properties estimated to be worth around Rs 81.54 crore, three bank accounts (having a value of Rs 91.22 lakh), three fixed deposits having a combined value of Rs 5.58 crore and the shares of Joy Alukkas India Pvt Ltd, valued at Rs 217.81 crore.
The enforcement directorate (ED) says after a search, it attached various movable and immovable assets worth Rs305.84 crore of Joy Alukkas Varghese, chairman of Joyalukkas India Pvt Ltd in a case relating to hawala under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
