Decatur Farmer Grows A $23 Million Lie
A Decatur farmer should probably study how to grow weed while he's spending his 8 years (and an additional 5 years for a second charge) in prison for bank fraud and false statements to a farming insurance company because he's going to need to make a lot of money to pay some hefty restitutions.
In September Michael David Stamp plead guilty to the charges and was sentenced earlier today. Not only did he get the jail time but he was also ordered to pay $23 million in restitutions. That's a lot of jack to pay back.
The IRS isn't fond of lies and fraud...
Meet New Detroit Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell
After weeks and days of speculation the trigger was finally pulled on making former Detroit Lion player and New Orleans Saints assistant head coach Dan Campbell, the new head coach of the 2021 Detroit Lions.
Campbell's name quickly rose to the top of the Lions most sought after list a day after the Lions hired new General Manager Brad Holmes. The Lions spoke with a half dozen possible candidates so far but were unable to speak with Campbell until after the New Orleans Saints season officially ended - the Saints season ended after a 30-20 loss to the Tampa Bay on Sunday.
$2,021 Tip Left At A Brighton Restaurant
Inspired by an anonymous couple who left a $2,021 tip at a Petoskey restaurant Courtney Atsalakis ordered some food from El Àrbol Taqueria in Brighton on Tuesday and attempted to stay under the radar when leaving the same size tip but failed in her attempt at a quiet exit.
"I wrote them a note in my car, then I tipped her the money (at the window), but I didn't want her to see. I slipped it and ran to my car, but she ran out and did catch me at the road and thanked me," she said. - FREEP.COM
Scientist believe they may have stumbled across why some people are prone to hear voices or carry the traits that lead to claims of hearing the dead or other voices. Those traits include unusual auditory experiences in early childhood, easily prone to hallucinations and a complete "all-in" mentality when it comes to mentally based tasks.
Hearing experiences minus the external stimulus that's often attributed to the spirits of the dead is important in attempting to understand why some people with sensitive auditory traits report positive experiences - like spiritualists and clairvoyants versus those who find the auditory experiences frightening, stressful or bothersome.
Puppy Rats Out Illegal Hunter In Barry County
You've heard the saying that a dog is man's best friend. Sometimes though, that saying comes with a price, especially if you're one who hunts illegally.
Case in point. An out of state hunter allegedly thought he could bypass all of the state of Michigan hunting laws and regulations and take a little side step when it came to hitting the woods for an illegal deer hunt. What the hunter didn't bargain for, was the careful and watchful eye of Conversation Officer Richard Cardenas and a puppy on the property who was hungry for a little venison snack.
Tigers Just Dumped $25 Million Getting Ready For Season
No battles at the arbitration tables for the Detroit Tigers this season as the team comes to terms with all nine players who were eligible for arbitration. To the tune of around $25 million all nine players have contracts now and the great thing is, everyone can now just get to work right away.
The 2021 season draws near with the first players and work-outs reporting to spring training soon. The reporting date are still TBD at the time of this writing but sometime in the month of February seems likely.
Players with more than three years of major league service but less than six years of major league service are considered arbitration-eligible players. The nine players signed and ready to report to spring training include:
Life Stunk (Literally) For Skunk Lady Of Howe
Think your life stinks? Try living one day in the life of the
"Skunk Lady of Howe" Crissy Hand, dubbed the filthiest woman in the world by Ripley's Believe it or Not. Crissy lived in Howe Indiana and became a somewhat famous tourist attraction with visitors flocking to her house to meet the woman who never bathed or change her clothes and was always adorned around the neck and shoulders by a pet skunk. Yep...a skunk.
Most of us would flee as fast as we could upon coming into contact with skunk. Not Crissy. She embraced her skunk lifestyle even competing with her pet on who could smell the most raunchy. The noses of those who finally tracked down the skunk lady often regretted it the minute she came bouncing out of her run down stinky shack. With skunk in tow, she would race up to people the minute they arrived to do a little dance and beg for coins.
I could not resist. The jackpot was too big. A whopping $625,000,000 was up for grabs and I had to do it. Now I don't play the Michigan Mega Millions enough to have a lucky set of numbers or numbers that correspond to a series of birthdays or an anniversary, I just do the easy picks and let the numbers fall where they may.
Of course that doesn't stop me from daydreaming about hitting it big. Of course I'm never optimistic on these things as a matter of fact I thought to myself with my luck, 6 million other people would have the same numbers and I would have to split the winnings 6 million ways.
