Counting of votes began on Tuesday morning for bypolls in three Assembly seats and Khandwa Lok Sabha constituency of Madhya Pradesh, an official said. The bye-elections were held on October 30. In the Khandwa Lok Sabha seat, BJP candidate Gyaneshwar Patil was leading by 2,033 votes over his Congress rival Rajnarayan Singh Purni after the first round, the official said. The
Congress’ candidate Kalpana Verma defeated the BJP candidate Pratima Bagri by a margin of 12545 votes, according to election commission. BJP candidate got 60,558 votes while Kalpana received 72,803 votes.
