Heres what we know so far. The train was about 45 minutes into its trip from Grand Central station in new york city when it slammed into the suv. Investigators say the suv was on the tracks because a crossing gate came down on it at a Railroad Crossing at valhalla in West Chester County in new york. The driver got out of the car to look at the car and was about to drive away when the collision happened. The train pushed the jeep more than 800 feet down the tracks and both burst into flames. The driver of the suv was killed along with five people on the train. We are hearing from some train passengers tonight about the frantic effort to get out.
