The annual celebration of 4 20. It might be the highlight of the year for marijuana enthusiasts but not everyone is looking forward to it. Its the one day police in San Francisco turn a blind eye on pot smokers getting high in public because there are too many to ticket. Thats just crazy. But city leaders do try to control the chaos on 4 20 as much as they can. We never know what to expect. We prepare for large crowds. Last year the city spent 100,000 on extra police and cleaning up the mess left behind. Still Business Owners said it wasnt enough. Its pretty sketchy. She works on way street and last year the crowd got out of control. You cant really work. Theres people throwing trash everywhere and disrespecting the streets. Its good for business. This will be the stores first Unofficial National marijuana celebration day. The goal is to have everybody check out our product. While he hopes sales are high city leaders hope the trouble is low and the fact it lands on a week day could be
Lease and with the soon to be completed renovation project and the restoration project, the Department Anticipates receiving an average of 1. 3 million per year over the fiveyear term of this lease. Thats an increase of 5 63,000 per year, over 2. 2 mill over the fiveyear term,v with that, if there are any question the supervisors have . Supervisor avalos . The hearing we have coming up soon is [speaker not understood] is meeting rlb requirements, business local enterprise will be doing the concessionses in elevator for coit tower, is that correct, for the museum store in the elevator . My understanding of lb requirements those extend predominantly to contracts, not to leases. They are required to meet all of our requirements around nondiscrimination and the like for hiring. But as a lessee, those subcontracting goals do not apply under my understanding to leases. But the question is better directed toward the Contract Monitoring Division. Okay. How about answering in terms of the spiri
That these new options that you have come up with are fabulous if, in fact, theyre going to happen. But based on this report that im reading, i dont think that they ever will. I dont think february 1st, 2013 is near enough time to take on these new options. And i think that its funny that february 1st, 2013, is probably two days before youre going to start digging the trench on columbus avenue. Also it seems like to me, based on our future or our past business together, that this is an item to a bees us when the real serious matter is paragraph 3, which says, if we cant do options 3 or 4, were going to do what we had originally intended. I think thats all i had to say. Thank you, sir. Next speaker, please. Lance carnes, steve taylor, lorenzo petroni. Mr. Carnes. Good afternoon, mr. Carnes. Yes, nice of you to hear us today, board members. Id like to underline again about the Community Input and the communication to the neighborhood. Ive gone to maybe five or six meetings over the last
Central task force, im also the transportation chair for russian hill neighbors. Youll be hearing from russian hill neighbor president so i will confine my remarks to spur. Spur has supported this project vigorously since its inception. We have supported the four corridors plan which is based on this project, encompasses two of the four corridors. Our major criticism against this project that we have had for some time is it doesnt go far enough. It needs to be extended so that it encompasses the entire north beach corridor. And our principal aim is to make sure that whatever happens does not preclude the extension. We are working very closely with mta and others to begin the study for the extension. We strongly support option number 4, which by the way, contrary to what the previous speaker said, was overwhelmingly supported at the meeting, citizens meeting on the 19th. Only a small number of people supported option 2. Most of the people there also supported people there also voted tha
This supplemental focuses on the most immediate needs and we already have Many Organizations in dire straits. The bla report highlights the 2001 grant and puts out possible models for criteria for prioritization for what kind of an application process we would have. And [speaker not understood] going on reserve while the task force does its hard work and comes up with its recommendations for the best and most fair way to allocate these funds and what kind of an application process should exist. And we want to ensure that this limited pot of money is used in the best possible fashion. I do want to actually respond to supervisor mars question about the loss of nonprofits in the city. The october report that the budget and legislative analyst did noted about 7500 San Francisco an nonprofits two years if go and now there are 6,000. We lost 20 of our nonprofits. We dont want to go any further. ~ so, thank you in advance for both of your approval of this supplemental and your efforts to incr
