William Alan Shuck, 55, faced Brisbane District Court on Monday where he pleaded guilty to five counts of fraud that he committed while working as infrastructure operations manager for Queensland Racing between 2014 and 2015. The court heard that Shuck gave Wayne Francis Innes inside information about project budgets and forwarded competitors quotes so the businessman could secure work for his earthmoving business Landfill Logistics. Subscriber only A judge has dealt a long-term Mackay drug user a sobering message - you will either clean up, die or spend the rest of your life in jail. Nathan John Melody, who has a 20-year drug history, tried to sell ice and cocaine to a number of people - although he told police the drug messages were about bike parts, chocolate and Coca Cola. He also tried to convince police a set of nunchucks found in his possession were wind chimes. Crown Prosecutor Tiffany Lawrence said police raided the man s Bakers Creek home on May 27 last year and found drugs including ice and marijuana, as well as a taser, the nunchucks and used drug utensils.

A Whitsunday man choked and assaulted his former partner after arriving home to what he claimed he believed was a home invasion.
Minimal details were read aloud during a short sentencing hearing in Mackay District Court.
The victim had arrived at Jarred Leith George Gillieâs home claiming she was returning a shifting spanner â a story Judge Julie Dick did not buy.
âThereâs a background to it, itâs not just straight up gratuitous violence that you sometimes see in these cases,â Judge Dick said, indicating she did not believe the victim had been there to return the tool.
