PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The wait to become eligible for a vaccine is over for Rhode Islanders in their 50s.
The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) opened vaccine eligibility for people aged 50 to 59 Monday, making it so anyone over the age of 50 and people aged 16 and up with underlying health conditions are eligible for a vaccine.
“We’ll open up the next, 40 and over, the following Monday on the 12th and then 16 and over on the 19th,” said Governor Dan McKee Monday.
The next round of vaccine appointments to open up will be on Tuesday, with more than 7,000 appointments for state-run sites and regional clinics.
