As the temperature drops, the number of calls for HVAC technicians has increased as people start to use their heaters.
David Bedingfield with Air Specialist Inc. said there are multiple reasons why units fail.
“A lot of it is lack of maintenance; also, dirty filters or anything like that can contribute to a failure at that point in time, Bedingfield said.
He said because dirty filters can disrupt air flow, it can cause carbon monoxide to be released into the house, which is itself a danger. He also said it can cause the motor to not operate, which can cut the system off.

Today (12-19-2020) Neiman Marcus in the Galleria in Houston, gave away giggles, ahs and aws and absolute delight by bringing together two of our favorite things: Santa and Puppies!
The Houston SPCA joined with Santa and Neiman s to safely entertain Galleria shoppers by putting them both together in Neiman s front window. The event was so successful with so many people crowding around that, Julie Kuenstle of the Houston SPCA says Santa added some hours to his Houston visit and he and those adoptable puppies stayed a few hours longer. Lots of phones were snapping photos and calling the SPCA to schedule an adoption visit.

Game Warden Dustin Dockery and Houston SPCA s Wildlife Center of Texas Debbie Mitchell release a female bald eagle back into the wild, Friday, June 12, 2020, in Baytown.
