Organizers and parents on both sides of a controversial proposed After School Satan Club talked to Fox News Digital about their perspective on why such clubs are emerging.

Last week, word about an After-School Satan Club at a school in Chesapeake, Virginia caused a slate of public backlash, which led the original sponsor to withdraw her name from the club.

An After-School Satan Club that was planning to begin its program at a Virginia primary school next week has canceled its meetings–for now. 

Organizers are resubmitting an application for an After School Satan Club at an elementary school in Chesapeake, Virginia, after the first sponsor withdrew her name.

A Chesapeake, Virginia elementary school will host an After School Satan Club beginning on Dec. 15, after district officials said it could not discriminate based on religion.

The Satanic Temple was approved to host an after-school program for Virginia elementary students starting in December.

All hell broke loose after a flyer began circulating online inviting elementary school kids in Chesapeake to “have fun at after-school Satan Club.”

Parents in one Virginia community are outraged after a flyer advertising a new After-School Satan Club was sent home with students.

The group, ran by the national organization The Satanic Temple, holds meetings in public spaces including schools.

An elementary school in California will allow an "After School Satan Club" to begin meeting in its facilities starting in December, according to reports.
