100 breast champion Qin Haiyang aims to double up on breaststroke golds in Fukuoka with the men's 50 breast final on Day 4 at 2023 Worlds.

Smith took down her teammate Katharine Berkoff's American record by just 0.02 of a second to qualify for the 50 back final as the top overall seed.

American 16-year-old Thomas Heilman finished just off the podium, clocking a huge new lifetime best of 1:53.82.

Daniel Wiffen continues to impress, dropping time off his own Irish national record en route to clinching the 4th seed in the men's 800m freestyle.

Qin Haiyang of China ripped a lifetime best of 26.20 to take the top seed in the men's 50m breast, establishing a new Asian Record in the process.

Today's finals session features the first meet's first showdown between Regan Smith (pictured) and Kaylee McKeown as they fight for gold in the 100 back.

Like the women's 800 free, the women's 1500 free is an event with Katie Ledecky's name written all over it.

McKeown was DQed for her back-to-breast turn, as she did not touch the wall fully on her back. She had previously been a gold medal contender in the 200 IM.

Zhang Yufei has paced the women's 100 butterfly through the rounds, and she's looking to strike gold during the second finals session of 2023 Worlds.

Defending World Champion Mollie O’Callaghan is the only returning medalist racing this year, leaving the podium wide open for some new faces to step up.
