A storm drenching the Bay Area with heavy rain on Monday has left some roads flooded, caused power outages, prompted delays for commuters and caused other.
Power outages hit affected thousands in neighborhoods throughout the Midpeninsula on Tuesday. In Atherton, roads were closed after a tree and a vehicle hit two different utility poles.
Multiple power outages were reported in Palo Alto this afternoon, including one that impacted 3,400 customers, the Utilities Department said. Thousands more have also been affected by outages in East Palo Alto and at Stanford.
A box truck that picked up evidence from a home that exploded in San Francisco yesterday appears to be the focus of the hazardous materials investigation in Daly City on Friday.
