Top 10 Python libraries of 2020 you should know about

The rules are simple. We are looking for libraries that satisfy the following conditions: They were launched or popularized in 2020. They are well maintained and have been since their launch data. They are outright cool, and you should check them out. Disclaimer: this year, our picks are heavily influenced by machine learning / data science libraries, although some can indeed be very useful for non-data science people. Moreover, although we have 10 main picks and a bonus we decided to add a new “Honorable mentions” section that does justice to other libraries that we found and couldn’t leave out. The spirit of this post is to give some visibility to these libraries, as well as generate discussion (in the comments or elsewhere) around some other great picks we may have missed which we are sure there are.

The LLVM Project Blog

The LLVM Project Blog Dec 20, 2020 Interactive C++ for Data Science In our previous blog post “Interactive C++ with Cling” we mentioned that exploratory programming is an effective way to reduce the complexity of the problem. This post will discuss some applications of Cling developed to support data science researchers. In particular, interactively probing data and interfaces makes complex libraries and complex data more accessible users. We aim to demonstrate some of Cling’s features at scale; Cling’s eval-style programming support; projects related to Cling; and show interactive C++/CUDA. Eval-style programming cling::Value to store the execution result of the incremented variable

CTI Innovation Awards spur new learning opportunities December 15, 2020 Giving students the tools to respond positively to adversity is a critical part of preparing them for their future careers, and is one of the main missions of the Center for Teaching Innovation (CTI). Each year, CTI grants funding through the Innovative Teaching & Learning Awards to help faculty explore new strategies and tools for enhancing student learning experiences at Cornell. The 2019-20 award recipients faced extraordinary challenges, given the changing landscape of the ongoing pandemic. Their flexibility and improvisation helped create new opportunities with a lasting impact on teaching at Cornell.
