Anvir has been accused in the case of abetting her suicide at a Gulshan flat on April 26. He failed to secure anticipatory bail from the High Court yesterday, a day after seeking anticipatory bail from the court through his lawyers.

The panel of Justice Mamnoon Rahman and Justice Khandaker Diliruzzaman was expected to hear Sayem’s petition.  The body of 21-year-old Mosarat Jahan Muniya was found hanging from a ceiling fan in a flat in Dhaka’s Gulshan on Apr 26.

Death of College Girl: Bashundhara MD fails to secure anticipatory bail Sayem Sobhan Anvir Star Digital Report Star Digital Report Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir today failed to secure anticipatory bail from the High Court in a case filed over the death of a college student at a flat in Dhaka s Gulshan area on April 26. The HC bench of Justice Mamnoon Rahman and Justice Khandaker Diliruzzaman refused to hold hearing on any of the anticipatory bail petitions including that of Anvir as it has no jurisdiction to hear such petitions. The HC bench said it will not entertain any anticipatory bail petition due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic situation and restrictions.
