West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday termed the cancellation of over 25,000 school jobs as gross injustice and alleged that it was a ploy by the Bharatiya Janata Party to stop these job losers from being deployed in poll duty.
The Division Bench of Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court today observed that election at Berhampore, Murshidabad should be kept in abeyance in the face of heightened tension, which even culminated into violence while Ram Navami celebrations were on.
Elections should not be held in those areas where communal clashes occurred on the occasion of Ram Navami, the Calcutta High Court orally suggested on Tuesday.
