The Supreme Court on Monday refused to direct the Bombay High Court to resume monitoring the probe and trial concerning the murder of rationalist and activist, Narendra Dabholkar.
"The expression 'custody' under Section 27 of the Evidence Act does not mean formal custody. It includes any kind of restriction, restraint or even surveillance by the police," the Court explained.
