ABBOTTABAD: Director General Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) Asif Khan has said an anti-encroachment drive would be launched to remove illegal constructions along the N-15 (expressway) and from the bed of River Kunhar to make the Kaghan and Naran valleys more attractive for local and foreign tourists.
He was speaking during a meeting called by Hazara division commissioner Riaz Khan Mehsud here the other day.
The KDA director general said owners of hotels and restaurants had been asked not to throw garbage into the River Kunhar. He said steps were afoot to protect the national parks in the valleys, manage traffic, rehabilitate the Karakoram highway and other roads.

MANSEHRA: In line with the prime minister’s clean and green tourism vision, the district administration on Wednesday imposed a ban on all sorts of commercial and domestic constructions in Kaghan valley with immediate effect.
“I Dr Qasim Ali Khan, the deputy commissioner Mansehra, herby impose a ban on all types of construction in Kaghan valley without prior approval of Kaghan Development Authority,” the order promulgated under section 144 of Crpc said.
It further said that there was a mushroom (unplanned) construction of the commercial and non-commercial buildings in the Kaghan valley without getting a no-objection-certificate from Kaghan Development Authority.

NARAN: Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Monday that ensuring law and order was inevitable for the promotion of tourism, coupled with development of infrastructure and facilities like resorts and recreational activities.
He was talking to media after arriving here on a day-long trip to launch several tourism and environmental protection projects. Khan said after eradication of terrorism, the influx of tourists had doubled in Pakistan. He said mere construction of roads was not enough since tourism happens to be a science and a component of different facilities.
