Twenty students from Jerudong International School (JIS) were awarded certificates in a closing ceremony yesterday, following the completion of their stay at Meriuk Farm Stay in Jalan Mungkom, Tutong District, as part of a community outreach project under The Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Gold Award programme.
The project, held by Travelhub Tours and Travel Agency Sdn Bhd in collaboration with the Kampong Mungkom Village Consultative Council, challenged the students to disconnect from electronic devices and brave the jungle conditions for nine days.
Acting Tutong District Officer Ajmin bin Haji Meludin presented the certificates of participation as guest of honour, who in his congratulatory remarks, hoped the experience brought the students closer to the community.
