According to the Kurukshetra Police, a 'kanwariya' (Lord Shiva devotee) jumped into the Saraswati feeder of Narwana Branch canal and saved the 18-month-old girl who was thrown in the canal by her father.
Six people, including three minors, were killed in the mishap after the truck carrying them came in contact with a high-tension power line. The Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited and Meerut district magistrate ordered inquiries into the incident.
