The third meeting of students of the Institute of Foreign Languages of Petrozavodsk State University with young people (students and schoolchildren) from the sister city of Tubingen took place.
The meeting was held in the videoconference mode on the ZOOM platform and was a continuation of the Tubingen-Petrozavodsk online youth exchange project.
The third of four planned meetings within the framework of the virtual bilingual round table “Tourist Karelia”, organized annually under the guidance of Associate Professor of the Department of German and French Languages E.N. Vorotilina and senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages of Humanities O.O. Nikolaeva, was devoted to the demonstration and discussion of a photo of the sights of the twin city of Tubingen, as well as a video filmed by the students of the Institute of Foreign Languages. The new stage of the project implementation involves online lectures for an international group of students of PetrSU and the University of Tübingen, which included representatives from different countries (Russia, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Brazil) and different directions (“Political Science”, “International Relations”, “Sociology” , “Social work”). As part of this stage, lectures are planned by German and Russian teachers, as well as representatives of the expert community.
The first lecture “Multilevel Government, Federalism, and Local Politics” for the international group was delivered by Dr. R. Frankenberger. Associate professor, Ph.D. Yulia Aleksandrovna Petrovskaya and executive director of the Karelian Foundation for the Development of Public Diplomacy Natalya Vyacheslavovna Lavrushina.

On March 11, students of the Institute of Foreign Languages of Petrozavodsk State University met with students and schoolchildren from the sister city of Tubingen. The meeting was held in the videoconference mode on the ZOOM platform.
This is the first of four planned meetings within the framework of the virtual bilingual round table “Tourist Karelia”, organized annually under the leadership of Associate Professor of the Department of German and French languages E.N. Vorotilina and senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages of Humanities O.O. Nikolaeva. One of the initiators of the meeting was the Karelian Foundation for the Development of People’s Diplomacy, headed by N.V. Lavrushina. The meeting was moderated by Stephan Klingebiel, an expert from the Youth Department of the City Hall of Tübingen.
